Wellness and Lactation Room
Lactation and Wellness Rooms are designated as single occupancy. Users must wear face coverings when entering and occupying lactation/wellness rooms. Microwaves, refrigerators, and other appliances (if available) in lactation and wellness rooms are for cleaning pumping parts and storing breastmilk only; eating and drinking is not allowed. Wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds before using appliances. Clear signage room to support these requirements. When applicable, usage of lactation and wellness rooms should be spaced out between users. The following options can assist with ensuring single occupancy:
- Rooms with mediated access (user must check out key or interact with a facilitator for every room use.) The person providing room access records time of departure and ensures breaks between users.
- Unmediated access (user enters the room without going through another person or process). The room user could mark departure time on a whiteboard on the outside of the door.
Building managers may access the latest lactation/wellness room signage available through the provided signage in the toolkit link above.
